NYC Minimony Ideas

NYC is one of my favorite stomping grounds – there is so much to do and see.  Finding a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle and perched high with cityscape views always feels like a little luxury. There is no lack of unique places where you can host an intimate ceremony for just the two of you or a quiet celebration with your immediate families.

Some suites may need a bit of rearranging to create a little space for your mini ceremony but can be easily arranged beforehand. Corner suites, floor-to-ceiling windows, private terraces, and stylish decor can all help to create a picture-perfect setting. Hire a photographer accustomed to indoor shooting and styling to get the best shots. Your florist can always setup something sweet onsite, deliver arrangements or completely transform your room to make it magical.

Splurge

In a city where space is a premium, these suites are incredibly lavish with the pricetag to match.

The St. Regis New York
This grand hotel offers lavish designer-themed suites and 1 bedroom suites decorated with old-world European elegance that takes you completely out of the city. The 24-hr butler service and complimentary car service will make you and your loved ones feel like royalty.

The Lotte New York Palace’s Royal Suites
Three-story lofts with rooftop terraces, panoramic skyline views and private elevators are just a few of the features. Their Penthouse suite has a little balconette overlooking the loft and their Champagne and Jewel Suites have private outdoor terraces with jacuzzis.

Unique and Stylish

For roughly the same budget as a venue fee, you can find suites that can serve multiple purposes – your ceremony, a quiet catered dinner or celebratory toast and a romantic getaway at the end of the night.

The Whitby Hotel Terrace Suites
Looking for a combination of quirky, posh and colorful? The British style flair of The Whitby Hotel offers terrace suites with floor to ceiling windows and private terraces.  And how can you not love their freestanding tubs and afternoon tea?

The Greenwich Hotel’s Suites
Tucked away in the quiet Tribeca neighborhood, this boutique hotel is small, personal and intimate. A fireplace suite and exposed ceiling beams gives an elevated feel to what a homey brownstone wedding could be like. Their neighborhood bistro next-door would be a great place for a family-style reception dinner or host a private dinner in the hotel drawing room overlooking the private courtyard. Take advantage of their Japanese-style onsen spa complete with a heated swimming pool and soaking tub exclusively reserved for hotel guests.

The Marriott Essex House’s Terrace Suites
Recently updated to reflect the casual elegance of the Essex House, the Terrace suites either overlook Central Park South or offer a wrap-around terrace of the Manhattan skyline.

SIXTY LES’s SIXTY LOFT and Suites
This hotel on the lower east side has sleek city-views and private terraces in a cool, industrial design. They offer a range of suites with private terraces that are flexible enough to accommodate for a truly mini ceremony or for a slightly larger guest list.

Surprise Steals

For the average price of a NYC hotel, this hotel offers the perfect minimony/elopement setup with light-filled floor-to-ceiling windows and separate living and bedroom spaces.

The Hotel on Rivington’s Executive King
Famous for their glass Penthouse for weddings and events, this boutique hotel’s executive king suites are also surprisingly scenic and a photographer's dream. Request a high-floor to get the most of the completely glass, floor-to-ceiling windows of these modern and minimal suites.
